GOGOL (Nicolas). Tarass Boulba. Lyon, Imprimerie Audin, for - Lot 181
GOGOL (Nicolas). Tarass Boulba. Lyon, Imprimerie Audin, for the Edition d'Art les Emeraudes, 1949.
Translation by Louis Viardot. Preface by Paul Reboux. Portrait and 20 etchings by P. Arcangioli.
In-4 in sheets, filled cover with title, cardboard folder and case. 400 copies numbered on vellum of Rives, this one of the 80 with a suite of etchings with remarks.
Beautiful work, with hand-painted lettering by the illustrator, who also did the printing of the etchings, signed by his hand in graphite (Ref. Monod, 5547).
Small soiling and defects to the slipcase, otherwise a nice copy.
