Restoration period clock with "miracle child" in gilded and chased bronze commemorating the birth of the Duke of Bordeaux, representing the Duchess of Berry breastfeeding the Duke of Bordeaux, Henri V future Count of Chambord and, kneeling, the Duke of Chartres, a suspended cradle, the enamelled dial inscribed in a terminal with an allegory of Abundance, the base adorned with a scene of Children's Education, the whole surmounted by two doves. Height: 45 cm (some oxidation to the bronze, micro-fracture to the enamel), under a globe Dimensions 45 x 12.5 x 33.5 cm
Henri V born Henri d'Artois also called Henri, count of Chambord born on September 29, 1820 in Paris (France) and died on August 24, 1883 in Frohsdorf (Austria). He was first known as the Duke of Bordeaux, grandson of King Charles X who abdicated in his favor at the end of the French Revolution of 1830.
