NORTON MOLNAR 500CM3 1959/1960 The lot... - Lot 25 - Alexandre Landre Semur
NORTON MOLNAR 500CM3 1959/1960 The lot is exposed at the Palais des Congrès de Beaune Expertise: Patrick Michalik Serial number: Absent or not located Administrative document: Without - Without technical control The Norton Manx is the mythical model of the brand before the sale to AMC and whose production started in 1929 and stopped in 1963. It became popular on the European circuits and from 1932 onwards it was possible for private drivers to obtain machines almost similar to the factory ones. Despite the fact that the production stopped during the Second World War, the success is there until 1963. In 1994, Andy Molnar acquired the rights to rebuild Manx according to the original Norton plans. Since then, he has managed to establish himself as the reference in the world of vintage racing and has also been able to improve the mechanics by integrating technical innovations that did not exist in the 1960s. Our example comes from the collections of the Château de Savigny. It is a reconstitution with a rather faithful respect of the original model. The model is a Molnar super square. A complete restoration of quality of the cycle part and the engine was carried out.
