Our 20th and 21st Century Arts department is dedicated to showcasing major works of modernity and contemporary creation, guiding collectors and enthusiasts through the understanding and appreciation of these constantly evolving aesthetic territories.
The 20th century marked a profound shift in forms and uses, where the boundaries between decorative arts, design, and fine arts gradually blurred. This expanded approach guides the department’s selection.
Particular attention is paid to furniture and design pieces, whether crafted from precious materials—such as works by Jean-Michel Frank, Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann, or Jean Royère—or international industrial design classics embodied by Eero Saarinen, Charles & Ray Eames, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
The department also places essential importance on architect-designed furniture by the great French masters, including Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, Serge Mouille, and Le Corbusier, whose creations demonstrate an exemplary dialogue between function, form, and innovation.
Beyond design, the department embraces the major schools of modern and contemporary painting, featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, or Yayoi Kusama, alongside Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Jean Dubuffet, Pierre Soulages, Zao Wou-Ki, and Simon Hantaï, offering a cohesive overview of artistic developments from the 20th century to the present day.
This openness extends to currently sought-after collecting fields, such as contemporary ceramics—from Jack & Dany Ruelland to Georges Jouve—as well as works by Pablo Picasso produced at the Madoura studio, illustrating the fluidity between major art and experimental practices.
Every work entrusted to us undergoes an in-depth study: stylistic analysis, provenance research, historical contextualization, and international market positioning.
This process allows us to support both sellers and buyers with clarity, providing precise benchmarks in a complex market where established signatures and rediscoveries coexist.
The department designs each sale as a curatorial project, adapted to the uniqueness of the works:
This approach enhances the visibility of the collections and maximizes their impact on a targeted audience.
Relying on an active network of collectors, professionals, and institutions, we ensure optimal exposure for the works, both in France and internationally.
Each auction benefits from a dedicated communication strategy: catalogues, targeted digital campaigns, and outreach to key market players.
The department operates with a global advisory logic: confidential estimates; disposal strategies; and the building, development, or renewal of a collection.
Every work is placed on a trajectory of sustainable valuation.
Our team is at your disposal to provide free and confidential valuations at any time and by appointment.
