ASIAN ART DEPARTMENT

Along with Japan and Vietnam, China is the spearhead of the Asian countries to continuously develop a strong economical activity, which increase the growth and dynamism of the Asian art market. Increasingly powerful in the luxury goods sector, as well as in the cultural and tourism industries, these new impulses have developed a strong interest in the arts of China (Ming, Qing dynasties) and Japan (Edo, Meiji eras), which is diversifying towards Vietnamese art (Ly, Tran, Nguyễn dynasties) and Southeast Asian art. The Asian Art department corresponds with buyers of Asian art from all over the world.

The Asian Art department exhibs Asian art from China, Japan, Vietnam and Korea, as well as "Himalayan art" from Tibet, Nepal and Burma, and of course art from the Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia...
Our auction sales mainly present Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Himalayan works of art among jades, ceramics with porcelain, sancai, stoneware, adding to lacquers and paintings alike Vietnamese lacquers, Japanese prints and old mangas, or Tibetan thangka, as well as furniture, bronzes and cloisonné enamels, and other display items including snuff bottles, sagemono (inrô, netsuke) and Japanese militaria (tsuba, sabres, armour, kabuto helmets), and various treasures of the study (seals, inkstone, bitong brush-holders, paint-brushes...).

 

SALES PREPARATION

To include lots in our forthcoming Arts of Asia auctions, we welcome you without appointment every Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m without appointment at 53 rue de Bourgogne Paris (75007), or by appointment from Monday to Friday.
Once we have received your request by e-mail with photos, we will endeavour to reply within two working days. Ideally, you can attach the dimensions of the object, its state of condition, and any information or documents relating to it to speed up the valuation process.

 

VALUATIONS - ESTIMATES - INVENTORIES - APPRAISALS

We appraise your Asian art objects to provide you with the information you need: type, period, value and estimate. If necessary, the firm of experts Ansas Papillon de Léry is associated. Appointments can be made at our offices in France or on request anywhere in Europe.
Partition, inheritance, insurance valuation requests: we are at your disposal to provide you with the information and documents you need.
