Provenance: Estate of Monsieur Louis Thirion, furniture from the private mansion built in 1923 by Gibert et Ogé, which has remained in the family ever since.
Marie Charles Peccatte (1870-1962) was a French artist known for his landscape paintings. He was born on February 21, 1870 in Baccarat, France, and died on March 3, 1962 in Saint-Di. Peccatte's works consist mainly of a series of oil paintings of landscapes, created with brush or knife. His style was not strongly influenced by the great artistic movements of his time, such as Fauvism, Cubism or Surrealism, but can instead be associated with Post-Impressionism. Peccatte was a member of the Ecole de Nancy and exhibited at the Salon d'Automne from 1903. Peccatte's paintings often depicted landscapes, and he was known for his ability to capture the beauty of nature.
