The Alexandre Landre auction house is pleased to present an exceptional collection of 20th-century and contemporary design by Madame J, featuring iconic pieces by leading international designers. The auction features Italian avant-garde, post-war French furniture and Scandinavian design, as well as unique works combining art, craftsmanship and formal innovation.
Among the highlights of this selection is a remarkable pair of 1970 "Elle" table lamps by Ettore Sottsass, published by Poltronova and part of the famous Mobili Grigi collection, testifying to the Italian master's experimental genius. The warm, sculptural world of Pierre Chapo is widely represented through several iconic creations in solid elm, including the "S38" benches, the T14D table, the R25 chest and the T02 coffee table.
The sale also features rare works by Gae Aulenti, Joe Colombo, Pierre Paulin, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé, Philippe Starck and Poul Kjærholm, illustrating the creative wealth of the 1950s to 1980s.
Italian design takes center stage with lighting and furniture by Angelo Mangiarotti, Marzio Cecchi, Warren Platner and Gianfranco Frattini, as well as an important group of Murano glassware attributed to Paolo Venini, Carlo Nason, Alberto Dona and Toni Zuccheri.
The sale also features contemporary creations and works of decorative art, sculptures, lighting fixtures, mirrors and unique pieces from prestigious workshops and private collections, offering a refined dialogue between modernity, craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics.
A sale aimed at collectors, decorators and lovers of historic design, bringing together rare, documented and emblematic pieces from the history of 20th-century furniture and decorative arts.
